Alma Mater International School is an official Cambridge examination centre and welcomes private candidates for the May and October exam series. 

Private candidates may enter for IGCSE, AS Level, A Level examinations, subject to subject availability at the centre. 

Our Examination Services

As a registered Cambridge examination centre we provide:

  • Official Cambridge examination enrolment for private candidates
  • Supervised written examinations
  • Laboratory facilities for science practical examinations
  • Oral examination facilities for foreign language subjects
  • Secure collection and issuing of Cambridge certificates
  • Administrative support throughout the examination process

How the Registration Process Works

As examination seating, laboratory sessions, and oral examination slots must be scheduled in advance, candidates are encouraged to apply early to secure their examination seat.

Step 1 — Review the Examination Fees

Please review the examination fees listed below before beginning the registration process.

Step 2 — Complete the Official Exam Registration

All official exam entries must be completed through our secure registration system.

Once your registration has been completed, exam fees can be paid directly through the registration system.

Step 3 — Confirmation of Entry

After your registration and payment have been received, the Exams Office will confirm your entry and provide further information regarding the examination timetable and procedures.

Step 4 — Secure Your Seat Early

Candidates are encouraged to register early to secure their examination seat at our centre. If a particular subject session becomes fully scheduled, we may assist by referring candidates to another approved Cambridge examination centre in the surrounding area.

Subjects Not Available to Private Candidates

While Alma Mater International School offers a wide range of Cambridge examinations, some subjects cannot be offered to private candidates due to coursework requirements, controlled assessments, or long-term project components that must be completed within a registered Cambridge teaching programme.

These subjects generally require ongoing teacher supervision, portfolio development, or coursework moderation, which cannot be facilitated for external candidates.

Examples of subjects that may not be available to private candidates include:

• Art & Design
• Drama
• Global Perspectives
• Design & Technology (coursework components)
• Music
• Physical Education
• Certain coursework-based language options

Subject availability may also vary depending on:

• Examination component requirements
• Laboratory or specialist equipment needs
• Examination scheduling constraints

Cambridge Examination Fees

The following fees apply for the October/November 2026 and May/June 2027 examination sessions.

Please note that examination fees remain subject to the prevailing GBP exchange rate at the time of payment.

Early Bird Discount

Candidates who register and pay between 6 May and 15 June 2026 for the October / November 2026 series qualify for a:

5% Early Bird Discount on examination fees.

Early registration is recommended to ensure preferred subject and practical examination scheduling.

 

Cambridge Syllabus Codes and Resources

Before registering for examinations, candidates should ensure they have selected the correct syllabus and option codes for their subjects. Cambridge uses syllabus codes to identify the qualification and option codes to indicate the combination of exam components required for that subject.
